Where: Private Home Mt. Airy, NC
Time: 7:30 - 12:30
Homeowners reported hearing & seeing odd things in one general part of the house including an apparition of a man. Also things being moved in the house and little tricks being played on the homeowners like heat being turned up or down and toilet paper being put in sink. After arriving at house and getting full report on what has been happening, we started setting up and did EMF base readings. We found that the EMF's were extremely high in the part of the house that the clients did not feel comfortable and reported activity in. We explained what this could possibly mean. We set up 3 IR cameras and several audio recorders in various places and did EVP sessions for the rest of the night. We tried to do a session with ghost box but got no clear responses from it. We heard a few odd noises but nothing that we could label as paranormal. I heard what I thought was a groan in one of the bedrooms. But again could of been noise from outside. I felt very comfortable in home except in areas of high emf that did give you that uncomfortable sensation. Several members heard what they thought were whispers at different times throughout the night but again not sure if paranormal or outside noise or matrixing from other ambient noise. I had no other personal experiences that night. We wrapped up investigation and will review the recordings and get back to them.

Investigation December 11th
Start Time: 10:30

Place: Theater
Present: Sarah, Michelle, Matthew, Kevin and Theater manager - Jon.
Areas: Large theater area that was wide open with balcony and stage area. Area behind the stage and a basement area that included kitchen and dressing rooms. Also a lobby area.
History: no known history that would cause this place to be haunted. Always used as theater and opened up in the 1920s. Was abandoned for about 20 years from 1960s to the 1980s before it was renovated and opened back up. Was used for a Burlesque house for sometime during the early years it was opened up.
Weather: 33 and rainy
Moon Phase: First Quarter
Things to be aware of during investigation and review: car noise and traffic causing sound and lights, bar across street was open till around midnight and so some street noise coming from it.
While setting up and preparing for the investigation, I spotted a man up in the balcony walking and thought it was Jon - never questioned it otherwise. The man was clear as day and walking from left to right side of balcony. After seeing him I then directed my eyes back down and there stood Jon at the doorway at the bottom floor and he was busy doing something else. I quickly looked back up and nobody was in balcony and all other team members were present and counted for. I was baffled and knew that it wasn't Jon in balcony because I immediately saw him after seeing the man in balcony and just to be sure I spoke up and said what I saw and he said he wasn't in the balcony. Later that night kevin was headed up to the balcony with Matthew and Jon. The rest of us were sitting on the stage - I saw Matthew and Jon upstairs and preparing for investigation and Kevin later made his way up the stairs. Kevin spotted a man on the stairs and actually passed him within a couple feet and thought it was Jon. It was dark so couldn't clearly make out the face but same shape, size of Jon. It turned out that Jon was already upstairs and did not pass Kevin. He had been up there and we saw him up there way before kevin made his way up the stairs.
Also that night I felt what can be described as the tingly spider web effect on my head in the same exact spot that I saw the man walking on the balcony area. It was like electricity running up the side of my head. Oddest feeling I ever had and later Michelle had this same experience and neither of us knew about the other's experience before each experienced happened seperately. Kevin saw a black shadow figure dart across the stage like it was running. Several members heard voices that sounded like whispers in their ears. Some unexplained noises but the building is really old and makes a lot of noises. No major EMF fields in the building except for stage right and that was from electrical source but was close to ground. Our EMF meters did not go off the entire night. We used for the first time the ghost box and communicated with what seemed like something. We talked with it for at least an hour's time. It directed us to the basement area and told us it needed help in basement. It inexplicably said the words basement and crawl space and help me several times. It wanted us to go to the crawl space and look for it. It said something about a "hole". Then Jon speaks up and states there was a well in crawl space. It also stated that there was a monster there holding it. That is was scared and that the monster did this to it. When asking to speak to the monster - we got answers in what seemed like a very dark, almost demonic sounding voice. It was nothing that we've ever heard on a radio before. The repeated answers to same questions asked over and over seemed odd. I don't know what to think of the ghost box and if it's a tool that should even be used since it's full of possibilities of matrixing and concidence. It did seem to have a lot of answers though. I would like to try again some other time and see if we can debunk this tool. This place seems to have some sort of activity just from the personal experiences we had. Even excluding the ghost box - we still saw and heard things that were unexplainable. I look forward to going over the evidence carefully and hope we got some sort of evidence on audio or video. This is definitely a place I would like to revisit at some point.

Evidence from Investigation performed recently.....Follow up.
We received a great deal of evidence from the private home case that we have investigated twice now. There seems to definitely be some sort of paranormal activity going on in this historic home. There were numerous EVPS - some very clear and some that answered questions asked by investigators. We had unexplained EMF activity that could never be tracked to any natural source. With the personal experiences and great amount of EVPs collected at this location I would feel safe to say that something is going on in the home that we can not explain at this time. This could possibly mean that it's haunted but would love to do further research before I can say with 100% certainty. Whatever is in the location seems to be non harmful and is attached to the house, especially one room in particular.

Investigation November 20, 2010
Private Historic Location in NC

Temps: 40s, cold and crisp air. No wind and clear skies.
Started the night with breaking into groups. First Group included myself, Matthew, Michelle and second group was Kevin and William. First group went to one location far away from second group so that no contamination was heard. We set up EVP session and started to ask questions. Matthew ended up taking a walk a little ways away from us. I saw what appeared to be a shadow person run from top of a hill down to a gully. It moved very quickly and it was similar to the shadow person seen last time at this location. The weird thing about it was how quickly it moved. It was at inhuman speeds. But it was clearly human shape form. Lots of noises outside during this time but I have to debunk them as animals. We thought we heard footsteps on several occasions but due to it being outside we had to debunk as something natural. Michelle saw what she thought was a shadow person peek out behind a tree on one side of us. Then later I saw a shadow person move out from behind a tree look at us and then duck back. Michelle ended up seeing the same thing later that night behind same tree. Hard to say if truly a shadow person or if our eyes are playing tricks on us in the dark or some other type of shadow. We thought we heard a voice with our own ears in this same area. Not sure what it said but appeared to be one word and hopefully we captured it on audio. We later decide to walk back toward where the cars are parked. We are trying to make contact along the route back. Matthew saw a figure of a lady standing at one point in middle of the road but she disappeared quickly so he wasn't certain he saw it or not. We went to this spot and again tried to make contact. This is same general area that last time we got an EVP of a woman saying hello and I saw her standing next to Michelle. We head back to where there are some graves at. We try and make contact with the people who are buried there. I head away from the group but still in sight. I get an overwhelming feeling that there are two people in a wooded area staring at me. I try and make contact with them. It was such an overwhelming feeling of being watched that I had the urge to get out of there but stood my ground and recorded and tried to make contact. I hope to have some EVPs to back this feeling up. We begin to walk further away and make our way to a field. Matthew and I both see in this field a shadow move down by a tree at the same time. Not sure if animal or paranormal in nature. We do EVP session in this area and make no other contact. We walk further away and end up meeting up with the rest of the group. We combine as one group and walk some more and try further EVP sessions. When walking back to the area where cars are parked I get a brief hit on my K2 meter. It flashed to the 3rd dot on the meter and then quickly stopped and I tried to make contact and it never lit up again in that area. The meter lit up after I made the statement I wish something would happen here! Then later on down the path I was making some statements about the ghost needing help and I could help it and Matthew thought he heard a voice respond. I tried again to make contact but no other contact was made. Once we get back to area where cars are and where I had strong feeling of something watching me in the wooded area I again tried to make contact. Matthew and Kevin walked on and left me, michelle and William there. I tried and tried to get something to happen, asking many questions and then I sat down and my k2 meter went off. I debunked it as just being movement of the meter but when trying to get the meter to go off with movement, it wouldn't. I sat the meter down on my leg and it was laying flat and not moving and it went off again. It didn't go off any more after that. We ended up having a long EVP session and hope to get something to back up the hits on meter. We met up with rest of group and slowly wrapped the night up. Will post more once evidence is reviewed.

Demons
I just recently finished up the book by Steven LaChance called "The Uninvited". Our meetup group plans to have a discussion this Sunday on the beliefs in demons. I have seen so many wrong doings in this area, so much that borders on bad morals and downright wrong judgments that I tend to shy away from ever using the word "demon". I come from a Baptist upbringing. I was terrified as a child of demons and the devil and everything that the church tells us to be afraid of. I would dream of burning in hell and the devil grabbing at my legs as I play to drag me down with him. Once I grew up and looked back I realized that scaring children into believing in a "God" is not really faith at all. Faith should simply be believing in something because you feel it in your heart and your soul. Not because you are afraid that if you are wrong you might suffer the consequences. I have found this to be so true in most Americans. That they only believe out of fear. To me that's not real faith.
I found the book to be very thought provoking. If the story he lays out for us in this book is indeed true then something major was going on in that house. It wasn't just one person experiencing these things - it was many people and they all saw the same types of phenomenon. Although the skeptic in me yells that they were sharing stories and that caused mass hysteria and therefore everyone saw the same things because it was pre-planted into their heads. So many scientific explanations can be thrown out for what was going on. But, what if it was more? What if it was so type of paranormal activity that we don't yet understand? To label something like the demonic just because it is negative seems a bit extreme to me. We have no proof that ghost exist, we have no proof that demons exist. How do we distinguish between the two things if we have no proof of either one? If the priests in the story were unable to help her and win the battle of good vs. evil then was it really a demon? or does that mean that demons are stronger than just a man with a title? I've seen a person who have achieved their degrees on the internet try and battle what they believe is a demon. To perform an exorcism on someone because they are hearing things and because they are seeing things without first getting medical opinion seems to me to be outright dangerous. Anyone who has these sorts of symptoms, who is experiencing hallucinations, needs to first and foremost consult a doctor. There are many practices like this going on in the paranormal field. People taking it upon themselves to label things as being demonic with no proof. Without even an investigation that shows that something is really happening and it's not all in the person's head. It pains me to hear of these practices, it causes me great distress to know that people are hurting others when they are at their weakest points in their life. I don't know if there are demons. I do believe there are things we don't understand, rather they be ghost, demons, or some inhuman form from another dimension. I don't know, nobody does. But, we must as investigators who are trying to seek the approval of the scientific community work to help these people and that means looking at all possibilities with an open mind. We must start with things that science has already explained and if science can not explain it then we are left with something we can label as paranormal.

Private Home Investigation November 13, 2010
Place: Private residence in NC, dates back to 1700's.
History: Footsteps, lights turning on and off by themselves, odd noises, sounds, voices.
This is the 2nd time we have investigated this residence. Both times have yielded some results. The personal experiences we had on this particular investigation included hearing what sounded like someone walking across the room we were in and actually caused the footboards to creak loudly. We heard a child's voice with our own ears on several occassions early in the night. All the activity seemed to happen early, from the hours of 8-10. After that the house seemed to quiet down and even had a different feel to the atmosphere. We got a couple K2 hits in the upper floor area. They seemed completely random and couldn't be traced to any electrical source. Then they stopped and never came back. This occurred on our first investigation also. Although it seemed to be answering questions through the K2 meter. Another investigator present with us who is not part of our team but just met us there used the flashlight and swears that the spirit answers questions through it and he has the EVPs to prove it. He is to send us those EVPs by email. I look forward to reviewing all the evidence and seeing if we have anything real and concrete to back up our experiences felt and saw and heart last night. It appears there is a child, old woman and possibly male spirit that might all be residual in their existence but that is yet to be determined thru the evidence. Will post more when we all have gone through evidence and have something to report back.

November 6th Investigation
AMP traveled to Morehead City, NC for a paranormal investigation this past weekend. Present were:

AMP worked very hard and broke down into two groups and switched out throughout the night. The location was mostly quiet throughout the night but there were a few incidences that included hearing a woman laugh, seeing apparition of a male figure in doorway, hearing a male voice in upper level room. There were a couple K2 hits but these were random and unable to be traced to any particular source. One member heard what sounded like movement of a book. A couple members heard footsteps in the same area of the building. One member heard a whisper directly in their ear but unable to determine what it said. The basement had odd happenings of causing pain in two different members head when one investigated stated they were staying until something happened. Pain quickly went away and was not felt again rest of the night.

a fallen soldier
I'm walking in the woods, darkness all around me. I feel as if I've stepped back in time, my dress drags the damp grass. The petticoat is all around me, straw hat in my eyes. The night is beautiful and the land has seen so much. I walk toward a figure that I spot who seems to be beckoning to me. I approach the figure wondering if he sees me. As I gaze upon him he slowly disappear into the darkness. I can no longer see him but I know he is still there. I can feel him and I feel as if he is watching me. I call out to him, begging him to appear. Wondering if my dress reminds him of someone he may have loved. I call to him and tell him to come back to our camp, that I can help him. That I want to help him and I see a figure dash in front of me. A human form that flows in front of my outstretched hand holding an instrument with a little green light. The meter does nothing but I saw him run directly in front of it. He was so quick, faster than any human can run. I turn to look and see nothing but the darkness. I call to him again and beg him to come with me. I know he is watching, I can feel his presence and I am not scared. I hear a whisper in my ear. A man's voice that causes me to turn quickly and find nothing but emptiness. This land has seen so many things, so much blood, so much life lost. I want to help him find his way home. I want him to be safe and able to move on. I feel no sadness only a gentle curiosity. He appears again from behind a tree standing there, a mere shadow in the trees. He slowly dissipates as if he is made of mist. Parts of him melting away into the darkness until there is nothing left of him. He plays with me, he follows me down the road. I hear the footsteps and again another whisper. Then I feel his hand on my back. A man who lost his life, I'm sure much too young. But who seems to still have adventure left in his soul. The most curious man I've ever met, yet a man who I can not seem to find. He is nothing more than a glimpse into the past, into a time so much different than ours today. When men were strong and fought for what they believed in. A time when they had to work hard and see sadness and pain around them all the time. To see their fellow soldiers fall in battle and see their families destroyed by war. I felt him there in that darkness while alone. I felt his presence and he mattered. His life mattered. Everything he had been through mattered if only for that mere moment in time. A moment that connected two worlds. Goodbye my new friend, goodbye my soldier. May you find your peace and may I find mine.
